Join us for an Open Rehearsal
You are invited to join current choir members for an open rehearsal on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026 from 7:00-8:30 pm at Daytona State College. This optional activity allows you to meet the director and other singers, plus experience a typical weekly choir rehearsal. If you feel the group is a good fit, you can register online for an audition to join the Chorale and/or try out for a role in the October 11th concert performance of the Pirates of Penzance.
Audition sign-ups open on Aug 1, and take place Aug 20-22. Weekly rehearsals begin on Aug 24 and take place at Daytona State each Monday night from 7:00-9:00 pm.
Rehearsal Location: the Goddard Center, bldg. 230 at Daytona State College. Park in parking lot S and enter on that side of the building. FYI-This can be tricky to find via GPS, so we recommend downloading the map below.
Audition for a Role in Pirates of Penzance
Auditions take place in the sanctuary of St. James Episcopal Church, 38 South Halifax Drive in Ormond Beach.
To try out for a featured role in our October 11th concert of Pirates of Penzance, you should select a 'Pirates' audition timeslot. All others should select a 'General Choir' audition slot. If you are trying out for both a role and the general choir, please sign up for the Pirate audition only.
Pirates of Penzance Auditions: Please prepare a solo in the Gilbert & Sullivan style — it can be from the show or from something similar: opera/art song/musical theater. Bring a copy of the music for the accompanist. Director Adam Stich will also test your vocal range. Auditions will last 7-8 minutes.
Please keep Saturday morning, Aug 22nd open for possible call-backs.

Audition for the Full Season

General Choir Auditions: Please prepare a short 1-2 minute song or hymn to perform, and bring a copy of the music for the accompanist. The director will also test your vocal range. Auditions will last 3-5 minutes.
For current choir members, the following groups will need to re-audition this season:
- All returning Altos and Tenors
- Any singer wanting to switch voice parts
- Any singer wanting to play a featured role in the October 11 Pirates of Penzance concert
Other current members do not need to re-audition.
